Between Two Wars by Gorlova and other projects awarded in Trieste

We're delighted to see EWA members and distinguished projects among the winners of the first prizes announced at the 10th edition of When East Meets West in the Last Stop Trieste and First Cut+ sections.

The Bulgarian project “Women Do Cry” is the winner of the 10th edition of When East Meets West. The project co-directed and produced by Mina Mileva and Vesela Kazakova (Activist38) is the story of a family full of women who oppose notions of mother and women, in a society where “gender” is an unfamiliar word.

European Women’s Audiovisual Network comes back to Trieste to present the EWA Network Best Female Director Award to Mery Aghakhanyan, director of the Armenian project Irene’s World.

Between Two Wars by Alina Gorlova, the project which received the EWA Talent Award in DOK LEIPZIG, was the winner of the HBO Europe Award

EVERYTHING WILL NOT BE FINE (Romania, Ukraine) , produced by Alexandru Solomon and Ada Solomon won the First Hand Fabulous Award and Flow Digital Cinema Award.

LISTEN, Directed by Ana Rocha and produced by Paula Vaccaro received the ORKA Award

24 HOURS SUNSHINE, directed by Juris Poskus and produced by Madara Melberga (FA Filma) will receive the Connect The Dots Film Agency in kind prize
