JLF Film ACademy

Josephine Landertinger Forero, director and producer based in Barcelona. The daughter of a Colombian mother and an Austrian father, she was born in Portugal in 1983. She studied Film and Communication at the Freie Universität Berlin, where she graduated in 2007. She specialized in performance art, German post-war cinema, Italian Neorealism, documentary film and journalism in armed conflict.

Her film "Grenzenlos” (Boundless, 2011), about three binational couples, received the "BeBerlinInternational" recognition from the Berlin City Hall for efforts to integrate migrants. "Home - the country of illusion", her feature-length film, a reflection on uprooting and a sense of belonging, premiered at the 2016 Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival, won the BAM Señal Colombia 2016 Award, the IDARTES National Cinematheque Award 2016 Colombia and was nominated for "Best Documentary Film" at the Colombian Macondo Awards 2017. Her second feature doc “MISTER TIERRA BOMBA” will be released in the fall 2020. Her fiction short film THE FIRST DANCE was her final film of the Diploma in Fiction Direction of the Congo Films School Bogotá in 2018, a short film that was exhibited theatrically in cinemas. She has worked as a teacher for Documentary film production at the Escuela Nacional de Cine Bogotá. 10 years of experience in teaching short film workshops in vulnerable communities in different countries around the world. Work as a programmer for the Cartagena de Indias International Film Festival (Colombia) and the Filmets Film Festival Badalona (Spain). Member of Dones Visuals Catalonia, European Women’s Audiovisual Network and the Academia Colombiana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (ACACC).
