“Impeccables”, top honours

"Impeccables", produced by EWA member Emine Yildirim, the story of two sisters confronting the secrets of their past in a beach-resort, also got a statuette for best director, while "Fall from Heaven", which follows a Turkish and a Kurdish woman’s reaction to the same tragedy, picked up a special jury award. The decisions, made by a jury presided over by legendary Turkish actress Turkay Soray, included cash prizes totaling $320,000 spread out among six of the ten winners.
