Eurimages presents the Gold Album of Female directors
The Council of Europe’s Eurimages Fund is proud to present the first edition of the Gold Album – Female Directors, which celebrates 50 films made by female directors. It constitutes a representative selection of over 300 Eurimages-supported films directed or co-directed by women over the last 20 years, from Maren Ade to EWA member Agniezska Zwiefka.
The films represent the diversity of female talent across Eurimages’ member states. They bear witness to the appeal of the Eurimages label of quality and to the Fund’s commitment to encouraging co-operation and cultural diversity across national boundaries.
Improving the visibility of female directors is a pivotal means of promoting gender equality in the film industry and one of the aims of the Fund’s Gender Equality Strategy.
We're delighted to see EWA members Sonja Prosenc, Teona Strugar Mitevska, Agnieszka Zwiefka alongside EWA's honorary president Isabel Coixet featured in the Gold Album.
