On Character and Costume

WIFT India in association with P.N.Gadgil and SOCH to hold a session on Character and Costume~ With Neeta Lulla, Niharika Khan, and Gavin Miguel.
Costumes are a very important department in the process of filmmaking. As cinema completes 100 year this section has chartered its journey with some remarkable developments.
If we look back at decades we have moved from Indian wear to western wear, the good girl costume to the bad girl costume, from what not to wear to what to wear. If we look back at the last decade there are significant changes most of it are the result of the shift that happened in the nineties.
In this session we discuss whether the character does define the costume.We look into costumes that set the fashion trends, discuss the detailing that goes into making the sketches and finally how true are the costumes to its character.
