3 women-centered films preselected as Spanish candidates to the Oscars, including Bollain and Ortiz' films
Congratulations to Iciar Bollain ("El olivo", The Olive Tree) and EWA’s vice-president Paula Ortiz ("La novia", the Bride) for the preselection of their multiawarded films in this year’s Oscars race. Pedro Almodóvar’s "Julieta" is the 3rd contender. Surprisingly after reading statistics about women representivity on screen, these films have women in the leading roles and also have women charcaters in supporting roles.
