On October 8th in the beautiful Slovenian coastal town of Piran, the European and Mediterranean Film Festival (FEMF) organised a very interesting conference to debate the situation of Women in Film in the European context.

Jelka Stergel, Slovenian Film Centre and Eurimages Gender Equality group opened the conference in Slovenian and presented the 2 guest speakers: Maya Weiss and Alexia Muiños.

The renowned Slovenian director, Maya Weiss, presented the situation of women filmmakers in Slovenia, including a personal research on gender imbalance in the national industry.

EWA's deputy director Alexia Muiños exposed recent achievements as the declaration adopted at the high-level conference “Women in today's film industry: gender issues.
