The first Woman in Series Award to be presented at Séries Mania

Kicking off the much anticipated 2021 in-person edition, Lille’s Series Mania announced  this new initiative to honour a key female figureworking in the European TV industry. The first Woman in Series Award goes to Christina Sulebakk.

Ewa Network is proud to present this award to acknowledge the achievements of a female professional. In partnership with the SERIESMANIA festival and PFDM, we are launching the first edition of the PFDM/ EWA Network/SERIESMANIA award.

The prize was presented at Séries Mania Festival in Lille on August 30th

Christina Sulebakk has a 15+ year track record in the entertainment industry, with demonstrable success and achievements in executive positions. Christina is a leading marketeer with a natural flair for leadership and top-level execution. After various senior marketing positions within the Nordic TV industry, Christina was in 2012 headhunted to be the EVP Marketing & Sales Officer, HBO Nordic. Here she was one of the founding members, successfully establishing HBO’s first streaming service outside of the US.

In 2015 she was promoted to EVP – CMO and Head of Distribution for HBO Europe. During her years at HBO Europe she has worked in Madrid, Budapest and New York and has played pivotal roles in transforming the Central European business into streaming, launching HBO España (2016) and HBO Portugal (2019) and most recently developing the go-to market strategy for HBO Max LatAm.

Christina Sulebakk was appointed General Manager of HBO Europe in July 2020 and in January 2021 she was announced as General Manager HBO Max EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). In her current role, Christina is responsible for upgrading current HBO streaming services in existing markets (HBO Nordic, HBO España, HBO Portugal and HBO Go in Central Eastern Europe) to HBO Max services during 2021, and for the expansion in due course of HBO Max into more territories across Europe, the Middle East and Africa
