Global Summit on Equity in Film at St John’s international Women’s Festival

GLOBAL SUMMIT ON EQUITY IN FILM at St. JOHN's International Women's Film Festival

St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival (SJIWFF) is a pioneering force in advancing gender equity in the screen industries. As Canada’s longest-running women’s film festival, SJIWFF has championed gender equity and representation in the sector for 35 years. This year  SJIWFF presents a Global Summit on Equity in Film which will convene a diverse mix of Canadian changemakers, international allies, industry decision-makers, and creative visionaries for a transformative day of dialogue, education, and innovation.

Alexia Muiños Ruiz will represent EWA Network in the Global Summit on Equity in Film which is part of the five-day Film Industry Forum in 2024.

“St John's Festival has developed an outstanding work in terms of finding new talent and fostering indigenous filmmakers. I am so thrilled to participate in this Global Gender Summit and share know-how and brainstorm with my dear colleagues. St.John's has been a partner of EWA Network for years and I’m really looking forward to speaking and exchanging at the Summit”

The Gender Equity Summit will be on October 25.

The International Lens panel will feature Dr. Susan Liddy (President, WIFTI and WIFT-Ireland), Alexia Muiños Ruiz (European Women’s Audiovisual Network), Barbara Rohm (Power to Transform!) and Natasha Gargiulo (Geena Davis Institute). Moderated by Women In View co-founder Jan Miller.
