EWA's News

EWA supported project by Inna Sahakyan, Aurora’s Sunrise, to its Annecy Premiere

Aurora's Sunrise will have its World Premiere in Annecy

EWA Network is so proud to announce that the much anticipated new animated documentary by EWA member  Inna Sahakyan, Aurora’s Sunrise, will premiere in the feature-length competition at Annecy Festival this coming June in France!

EWA Network knew about this project on the Pitching forum at Fest Forward in Belgrade in 2019, where a Jury composed of producer Laura Briand, EAVE programme manager Satu Elo, EWA Network Director of Programmes Alexia Muiños, unanimously decided to give the Best Pitch Award for Women in film selection to Aurora’s Sunrise,  produced by Bars Media Documentary Film Studio.

After seven long years in production, the production team is honored to present a docudrama about Aurora Mardiganian – an extraordinary woman, an Armenian Genocide survivor who selflessly chose to relive her trauma all over again to help fellow survivors and expose the atrocities to the world. The film will have its international debut at the most prestigious animated film festival in the world, Annecy.

We must mention that long time EWA member, Christine Aufderhaar, is the composer of the score of Aurora's Sunrise.
