EWA Network’s Pledge to end war in Ukraine

We, European Women's Audiovisual Network, strongly condemn the criminal actions of Putin's regime.

We stand for all filmmakers who are opposing the criminal regime in Russia regardless of their nationality, because we are one nation: the film nation, the freedom of expression nation.

This is a crucial moment in history when we have to stay united in our fundamental credo in order to survive.

Any filmmaker in need of anything is welcome to reach out to EWA Network ewa(at)ewawomen(dot)com and we will react instantly.

If there is any financial support you would like to offer, we encourage you to direct it towards the following organisation indicated by our friends at Molodist Film Festival in Kyiv:

International Charitable Foundation “Come Back Alive”:  https://savelife.in.ua/en/donate/

We will keep you updated on other direct ways to support the innocent victims of this horrible war.

United we survive,

on behalf of the board of EWA Network
Ada Solomon
Executive President

Pitch the Doc Showroom - Pitch the Doc has launched a special SHOWROOM dedicated to Ukrainian documentary projects, aimed at ensuring their continuous visibility on the professional market, as well as providing them a little better discoverability. Currently there are over 30 projects and just completed films. But we hope this number may grow.

- within EWA network, members, professional community - to give those projects some interest and visibility
- among Ukrainian filmmakers connected with EWA, to invite them to join it with their projects.

From May 2-6, 2022, SOFA (School of Film Advancement) will hold a digital workshop for their alumni from Ukraine. They will be joined by their Belarusian alumni who are living in exile. Besides connecting, strengthening their worldwide community, and developing projects, the main goal is to provide specific information by experienced experts and fund representatives of various support schemes, as the continuation of their cultural work is needed more than ever. The one-week workshop will offer an overview of tangible possibilities to professionally settle in new territories as well as methods and strategies for project development in this challenging situation. Now the SOFA team is helping their alumni with needed practical advice on navigating through the bureaucracy and the provision of high-level industry contacts. The workshop will be open to new participants from these countries, who plan to realize a structural project in the field of film/AV.  For those interested in joining SOFA in the future, there is an open consultation on April 27. For participation, please check the website and send an email.
