Jonas Dornbach and Petri Kemppinen joined EWA's Board
The German producer and the former CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond are the new members of the board after the General Assembly in Berlin February 2020, replacing Marie-Pierre Vallé and Nicholas Raveney
Jonas Dornbach grew up in Perugia, Italy. He completed his studies at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb) with the feature film "Auf Nummer Sicher?" directed by David Dietl in 2006. The film was awarded the Studio Hamburg Prize in the category Best Feature Film. He has been a permanent producer at Komplizen Film since 2010 as well as a partner and managing director since 2014.
Among other films, he produced "Tabu" by Miguel Gomes, a co- production that won the Alfred Bauer Prize and the FIPRESCI Prize in the Berlinale Competition 2012. "Hedi Schneider is Stuck" by Sonja Heiss, which celebrated its premiere in the Berlinale Forum 2013. "Toni Erdmann" by Maren Ade, which celebrated its premiere in the Cannes Competition 2016, won 5 European and 6 German Film Awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe, César, BAFTA and Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.
"Western" by Valeska Grisebach, which premiered in the section Un Certain Regard in Cannes 2017
"A Fantastic Woman" by Sebastián Lelio, a co-production which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2018.
“Synonymes” by Nadav Lapid a co-production which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale 2019.
“Skylines” created by Dennis Schanz a Netflix Original Series 2019.
Jonas Dornbach is a member of the ACE and EAVE networks as well as the German, British and European Film Academies.
Petri Kemppinen is an independent film and TV consultant, working internationally with financing and development, policies and training through his enterprise P1 Kemppinen.
Petri has MA in Communication Studies from University of Helsinki, a background in culture journalism and publishing before starting his film and television career at YLE in the mid-1990s and serving later at The Finnish Film Foundation (2005-2013) and as CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond (2013-2019).
He was a member of Eurimages' Board of Management 2006-2013. He has initiated workshops like Nordic Genre Boost and Nordic Distribution Boost, worked for training organisations like EAVE and is a board member at the Swedish Film Institute since November 2019.
Petri Kemppinen is a member of the European Film Academy.
