2019 EWA Mentoring Programme for Producers concludes in Thessaloniki
In the context of the Agora co-production market at Thessaloniki Film Festival, we had the pleasure to wrap the second edition of EWA Network's Mentoring scheme for female producers.
The workshop started with our attendance to the Crossroads pitching, where EWA members Sonja Prosenc and Christina Tynkevych pitched their projects. After listening to the pitches, the group started an inspiring session with Linda Beath, followed by 1-2-1 meetings with their mentors.
The film mentoring programme is specifically aimed at women cinema producers who already have a relevant experience at the national level and wish to evolve further to an international dimension. In most cases this growth also involves a strategic and business development of their company.
On the second day, the session focused on mentees needs as evaluated on the first day. The tutor Linda Beath went through subjects such as Festivals & Markets, career moves, dialogue with funders, and development and production strategy.
In addition, the group attended a masterclass on how to adapt to changing markets and new key players. After lunch break, the pairs mentor-mentee had another opportunity to meet and be coached and to have meeting with industry people attending the market.
