Spotlight on Media: Female Representation
The sixty-ninth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 10 to 21 March 2025. This year’s CSW69 coincides with Beijing +30, marking 30 years since the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action — a historic milestone for global gender equality.
In this context, EWA Network is thrilled to participate in this conference, part of the official United Nations Commission on the Status of Women, acting as a leading voice for women in the European audiovisual sector.
The conference will focus on the power in media today and how women's voices are shaped, amplified or silenced. Milestones achieved in the last decade and the challenges ahead.

SPEAKERS
Guneet Monga Kapoor – Women in the Indian Film Industry & WIF India will give an overview on the role of women in Indian cinema, its global recognition, and structural support.
Andria Wilson Mirza, will tackle the industry shifts and the progress accomplished in Hollywood regarding LGBTQ+ representation, and the impact of shifting production trends.
Agatha Stern, from EWA Network, will share her insight about good practices EWA Network has been advocating since its creation and the would add essential regional context to this global conversation.
