Karoliina Dwyer

The Speaker

Karoliina Dwyer is a Film Sales & Acquisitions Executive with over a decade of experience, focused primarily on International Distribution of feature films and TV Series.

Originally from Finland, Karoliina began her career working in development and production. She has been based in New York for the past 7 years, where she has worked with the Tribeca Film Festival and art house distributor Kino Lorber. She is also an Alumna of the EAVE European Producers Program and Inside Pictures, and Executive Producer of TV Series BETWEEN US and upcoming New Zealand drama PUNCH starring Tim Roth.

For the past 3 years Karoliina has been leading The Yellow Affair, a New York, London and Helsinki based World Sales Agent, which has a catalogue of over 100 feature films and TV series. The Yellow Affair was founded 2010 and is owned by prolific TV and Film production companies: Anagram Sweden, Helsinki Filmi (Aurora Studios), Marianna Films and Visiorex.

The company’s competitive edge lies in its expertise, flexibility and innovative approach, enhancing strong relationships with streamers, broadcasters and all rights buyers. The company pays close attention to new developments in the industry and boasts a proven track record in areas of development, finance, packaging, marketing and distribution of films and tv series of all types and genres.

 

In addition to international sales, The Yellow Affair has been working as an Executive Producer on several films and TV series, helping with the packaging and financing (examples include: The Girl King, The Carer, Cloud Whispers, Between Us, Punch etc.)

The Yellow Affair’s recent successes include TV Series Rūrangi by Max Currie which is just filming its 2nd Season and has been acquired by HULU, Directors’ Fortnight title Dogs Don’t Wear pants by J-P Valkeapää, Mika Kaurismäki’s Master Cheng, Ireland’s Oscar Entry Shelter by Sean Breathnach and January by Viesturs Kairiss which was just Awarded for Best International Narrative Feature at Tribeca Film Festival.
