CARLA B. GUTTMANN

Carla B. Guttmann is an international director whose films have premiered at TIFF, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara amongst many others. She is a member of the German Directors Guild (BVR) and has written and directed amongst others, the award winning dance film “The Double Woman,” the collective narrative film “Crossing Paths” and the television documentary “Making Heart of Fire.” Carla formally began her coaching company A-LIST FESTIVAL COACH in 2017 to share her knowledge about navigating top festivals and markets, like the European Film Market (EFM) at Berlinale, the Marché de Film at Cannes, the Toronto (TIFF) industry conference, and the TV Drama Vision and Nordic Film Market in Gothenburg.

Carla’s goal for the company has always been to create a safe, sustainable and successful strategies, particularly for actors, by putting them in touch with directors, producers, casting directors and agents in personalized meetings. Her “pre-booking strategy” of setting 1:1 meetings via festival databases before the festival begins, has gotten actors incredible results. They have signed to new agencies within 48 hours of attending Cannes, sold their own scripts with themselves attached as actors at Berlinale, attended
professional events that converted at TIFF, and acquired successful anti-#metoo strategies used by actresses at top festivals.

Carla’s biggest success story includes an actor who was initially rejected at Cannes on an actor’s accreditation, who then attended Cannes through the Marché du Film, signed with a UK agency within 48 hours, had six scripts sent to him by an American screenwriter, and obtained a one on one meeting with a Netflix producer of the five-time Oscar winning “All is Quiet on the Western Front” after attending her Cannes Starter & Pro Kits. The results have been jaw dropping.

Her CANNES STARTER & PRO KITS and BERLINALE STARTER & PRO KITS are active twelve months a year. You can contact her team here: team@a-listfestivalcoach.com to join
