On 14 March, from 10h30-12h30, the Eurimages gender equality study group held an open discussion on the current situation in respect of gender equality in the cinema sector. The event was held in Budapest at Gerbeaud House, 1051 Budapest, Vörösmarty tér 7-8 and was opened by Ms Ágnes Havas, Director of the Hungarian National Film Fund.
Points on the agenda were as follows:
- Summary of the studies on gender equality presented during the EFARN (European Film Agencies Research Network) meeting in Stockholm by Sanja Ravlic, President of Eurimages “Gender Equality” Study Group
- Introduction of the work and goals of European Women’s Audiovisual Network by Anita Gerencser (EWA’s Hungarian Ambassador)
- Introduction of Eurimages’ Gender Equality Study Group and its policies by Emmanuel Roland, member of the Eurimages “Gender Equality” Study Group
- Presentation on the situation of women in Hungarian cinema and at the University of Theatre and Film Arts by Ildikó Enyedi
The event was well attended and provided the opportunity for Hungarian professionals to find out about the work of the Eurimages gender equality working group.
