At spacious sala Tramuntana on Sunday 13th, EWA NETWORK was the host of a beautiful panel on Gender and Genre "From Bram Stoker to Glam Stalkers - women in horror"
Discussions ranged from representations of women in a Russian 20s Martian film, with a strong woman saving the world, to whether or not there has been an evolution in the representation of women in fantastic films and whether in fact genre films allow for an especially interesting and diverse range of characterisation... The panellists included: Consuelo Holtzer - Deputy Director of the Strasbourg Fantastic Film Festival; Naomi Holwill producer, writer, effects and blu-ray distribution of genre, Shelagh Rowan-Legg film critic for "Twitch" and specialist in Spanish genre films, KierLa Janisse - author of "House of the Psychotic Women" ; Mar Targarona - producer of "The Orphanage" and "Julia’s eyes" ; Francine Raveney - EWA Executive Director ; Sara Pons - director.
Among the audience, producers, actors,european industry representatives and Sitges film goers.
