EWA Network and Women-centered events at Berlinale 2017

The 67th Berlin International Film Festival is about to start.

We’re thrilled with our EWA member’s day on February 14th.

After 3 years organising events  as the Round Table Discussion on Gender Representation in European Cinema, presenting our flagship training at Creative Europe’s day and the presentation of EWA’s panEuropean Research on Women directors, this year we will host a networking event for members only that would include a masterclass by the award-winning producer Ada Solomon ("Toni Erdmann" exc.producer, "Scarred Hearts") and time to mingle with the community.

EWA Network has been invited to take part in the roundtable debate organised by the European Commission,"How to address violence against women in and with Audiovisul works?"on February 12th. The roundtable is hosted under the participation of Renate Nikolay, Head of Cabinet of Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality VÄ•ra Jourová, and Roberto Viola, Director-General, DG CONNECT, European Commission at the Salon Bellevue, The Ritz-Carlton in Potsdamer Platz. EWA’s Deputy Director, Alexia Muíños will represent our network.

Writer/Producer Murielle Thierrin will succesfully conclude her EWA’s scriptwriter Residency by February 17th.

We have to celebrate that little by little women’s films are more present in Film World. This year we find 5 films out of 24 directed by women in the Berlinale official selection.
