28/04/2016

After three years of research and hard work EWA is proud to share its report “Where are the women directors? Report on gender equality for directors in the European film industry.” (2006-2013).

Prepared in conjunction with 6 national film funds and 4 universities from across Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the UK, the study was co-ordinated by Francine Raveney (who was EWA Director during the process – now EWA Head of PR), and was written and led by Ms Holly Aylett (Birkbeck College, University of London).

The research methodology included qualitative research (centralized with the assistance of the Sheffield Hallam University) drawing on indices from throughout the participating countries; quantitative research (centralized by Rostock University) drawing on feedback from over 900 professionals from across Europe and a combination of national and pan-European best practice recommendations.
