EWA Network has been invited to take part in this roundtable debate organised by the European Commission.
The roundtable is hosted under the participation of Renate Nikolay, Head of Cabinet of Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality Vĕra Jourová, and Roberto Viola, Director-General, DG CONNECT, European Commission at the Salon Bellevue, The Ritz-Carlton in Potsdamer Platz . She will chair and facilitate the debate. Furthermore we are pleased to welcome a Member of the Culture and Education Committee of the European Parliament to join the debate, MEP Bogdan Wenta. He will address you on behalf of the EP. Afterwards Lucia Recalde, Head of Unit Audiovisual Industry and Media support programmes, will shortly explain the importance of the topic to DG CNECT.

On the eve of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the European Commission has announced a 2017 campaign to combat this phenomenon, which is still very common in Europe. One in three women has experienced some form of gender-based violence in their lifetime. You can find here the link to the campaign.
